I'm happy to announce the release of 'Red Dirt Road' - the first single of my upcoming album 'Retrospect'. It's been a long road just getting this far (no pun intended) and the full album will be released into the world mid September. Until then please have a listen to this track. Here's a quick blurb about the song:
'Red Dirt Road' was inspired by witnessing the struggle of a few selfless individuals who stood up for the protection of our natural world and resources against a seemingly unstoppable narrow minded Government.
The year 2011 marked the height of the controversy over the proposed onshore gas project at James Price Point in the Kimberley Region of Western Australia. Fortunately after many years this story had a happy ending where people power and common sense triumphed over short term political greed.
This song is a tribute to all the environmental campaigners and defenders of the natural world who are fighting similar battles on our behalf today.
I was fortunate enough to have a great producer and a bunch of superb musicians help me out on this track - Charlie Young (Producer/ Backing Vocals), Roy Martinez (Bass), Ric Eastman (Drums), Steve Kelly (Backing Vocals), Megan Hodgson (Tambourine) and myself (Guitars/ Vocals).
